Years ago, I was gifted a tartan wool Scottish serape that quickly became a cherished favorite. I’ve always loved its fluid shape — graceful, effortless, and the perfect weight for year-round wear. When I discovered Purl Soho’s Half & Half Triangle Wrap, I admired its simplicity, though the shape didn’t quite resonate with me. So, the idea for my own knitted wrap began to take form. I chose linen — a fiber I absolutely adore — for its natural beauty, texture, and the stunning color palette available. Wanting a touch of playfulness, I introduced classic racing stripes for a bold yet timeless accent. I also love keeping a project on my needles that’s simple enough to pick up anywhere, letting the rhythm of the stitches do all the thinking for me.

This pattern is written in fingering weight yarn in very generous size, there are instructions in the pattern to increase or decrease the size. There are also suggestions for swapping out the yarn weight, although they are only suggestions, as I have not knit it in any other weight than fingering.

The cape is knit flat in garter stich with I-cord edges all around. This wrap is the perfect weight I wear it dressed up and dressed down, I take it on flights to use as a blanket and snuggle, I wrap it just around my neck sometimes, it has so many uses.
